LFS Research Support offers support for faculty members in all LFS departments and units in applying for research grants and awards. We provide services that support the full life cycle of proposal development:
- Curate an archive of upcoming funding opportunities
- Support the initiation and development of research collaborations
- Identify available resources and critical deadlines (SPARC/IPO workshop registration, SPARC/IPO internal review, etc.) and circulate this information in the LFS Today and on the Research Support website
- Review grants against funding agency criteria and support editing and revision of research proposals and applications
- Work with individual faculty members and SPARC/IPO officers to incorporate comments from internal reviews from SPARC or IPO
- Liaise with funding agency project officers on behalf of faculty members when necessary
- Ethics Facilitation
- Attend grant preparation workshops and information sessions held for faculty by e.g. SPARC and IPO (CFI)
- Provide up-to-date information regarding ORS deadlines and procedures for grant submissions
- Support the preparation of the RPIF (including the required Faculty signatures) and submission of the required proposal pages to ORS
- Support the submission of final grants to ORS and funding agency
- Support for preparation of Award nomination packages
- Analyzing and providing internal reports of research funding data
- Support the academic reviews and evaluation of research centres and institutes
- Administer internal research awards and funding
- Research orientation and information for new faculty
