Fast Track Research Program-Aligning COVID Recovery with Local Government Climate Action

The Community Energy Association (CEA) and the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) are seeking research proposals for investigating opportunities and synergies between community-scale climate action and local economic development.

This important work will be used to directly support local governments seeking to sustain climate action while creating jobs during and after the current COVID-19 pandemic. Research results from this fast-turnaround project will be used to support mayors, councillors and area directors, and inform provincial funding program design.

The deadline for proposal submissions has been extended to September 14, 2020, with notification of decisions by late September. One to two awards will be made. Projects should be complete by the end of December 2020.

Be part of the solution – find out more by reading the Guide for Applicants. Applicants can include graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, faculty (including adjunct or sessional faculty) or staff with relevant expertise at any of the four PICS universities – UVic, UBC, SFU or UNBC.
