FoM Multidisciplinary Research Program in Medicine (MRPM): Now accepting applications

Please note: The application process and timeline for the 2025 MRPM round has been changed. We are now accepting one application from students and supervisors together; you must apply as a research team.

The MRPM program aims to facilitate and fund interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary research at UBC. Project applications require two UBC faculty supervisors: one from the FoM, and one non-FoM faculty member. One application should be submitted by these two supervisors, one postgraduate student advisor, and 2 non-MD undergraduate students in year 2+ (optionally, a year 1 MD student can also take part) as a research team. Each non-MD undergraduate student will receive a $9,400 stipend (supervisors are required to pay at least $3,400 of that as a top-up) for 16 weeks and the optional first-year MD student will receive a $3,200 student stipend for 8 weeks (no supervisor top-up required). If you are a supervisor with an eligible project but do not yet have students attached, you may advertise your project on our website so that students can contact you directly.

Applications are due on February 6, 2025 by 4:00pm PDT. Please consult our website for updated instructions, application details, frequently asked questions, and required forms. Any further questions can be addressed to med.studentresearch@ubc.ca.
